What documents are required for Home Loan top-up?

I’m not sure if any documentation is really required for the Top Up Loan facility. If you think about it, because a top-up loan is offered only to lender’s existing Home Loan and personal loan customers, they already have all your documents. Having said that, the lender may still ask for some documents to verify your debt burden ratio, changes in your income and financial status etc.

The required documents can be:

Valid Passport
Voter ID Card
Aadhaar Card
Valid Driving Licence

Prerequisite conditions for top-up loan:

A top-up loan is an extended financial support offered by the lender to their Home Loan borrowers. The first condition is that you have to be an existing Home Loan customer to avail a Top Up Loan.

Secondly, your debt-to-income ratio and your monthly income should be sufficient to pay the EMI of the new loan.

Third, and the most important condition, the lender should have the facility in their Home Loan schemes.

Bottom line: Nobody will be able to give the exact information required because the documentation depends on the lender. Some lenders might not ask for extra documents, while others can. So, it’s better if you call your lender and ask the same question and get the proper answer.
